Insurance: Single-Site Dental Implants
While there are many dental insurance policies that cover dental implants, it appears seldom that medical insurance provide benefits for dental implants. However, there are cases where medical insurance is available for patients who are missing all of their teeth, and as a result, have medical complications.
Dental Insurance For Dental Implants
Dental insurance coverage for dental implant surgery and or related treatment depends on the individual policy. Coverage benefits can cover the majority of the procedure for ONE dental implant or there may be little to no coverage benefits. Although most companies exclude implants as a covered benefit, there are policies that cover a portion of the procedure by offering benefits for the lowest cost alternative treatment option (e.g. partials, dentures, bridges). In the event that a patient does have implant coverage, they should be aware that the level of coverage is limited to the annual maximum allowable which is typically $1,500 to $2,000.
