Resolved Question: How long to dental implants take to heal?
To ensure success the implant should be left to integrate with the bone for apprx. 6 months.
After that a crown can be attached. Some people integrate a little faster so you're looking at a minimum of 4 months to apprx. 7 months. Allow a week or two longer for the crown although if you're in a hurry I guess you could have a temporary crown placed on the implant while the permanent crown is being made.
Most implant failures are due to premature loading, meaning a crown is attached and the patient bites something that causes the implant to loosen from the bone. Steer clear of the same day implants. Their success rate is not very high....
