Resolved Question: What is a reasonable price for dental implants?
The cost can vary depending on many factors. Some of these factors are:
1- The number of implants needed. This depends on bite forces, quality of bone, and the final prosthesis design.
2- The need for bone grafting and/or soft tissue grafting around the implants. Do you need sinus grafting or ridge augmentation?
3- The final prosthesis. Will the implants be splinted with a bar? What type of bar? What type of attachments will be used? Will the denture have cover the palate? Will the denture have a metal subframe. Some of these features increase comfort, longevity of the prosthesis, and make maintenance and repairs easier and less costly. But these features cost more initially.
4- Cost is also determined by the surgeon and restoring dentist based on their level of training, experience etc. In dentistry or medicine you're not just buying a product but the service that goes along with it. To answer your question. This estimate could be too high or it could be a bargain. I would get all the details and get a second opinion. I hope this helps. I have more info on my blog if I haven't bored you yet and you want to read a bit more on dental implants....
