Resolved Question: Who Has Had Experience With Dental Implants?
I got one right when I turned 18. It's probably the only thing in my mouth that hasn't given me problems. They gave me a quarter of a valium 20 minutes before the surgery and I was soooo relaxed. The surgery itself took maybe 45 minutes (same amount of time as getting a filling) and I was given 4 Rx's to take home.I had 2 weeks worth of vicodin and used every bit of it! I just had to eat squishy things for a couple weeks and when the bone grew back in and around the screw, I got a permanent tooth put on and it's been the least of my worries thus far. My veneers, crowns, and fillings have all needed replacing at one time or another, but that screw is going to last longer than I will! You will definitely regret not getting it if you think a bridge is a suitable alternative. Bridges degrade and destroy the surrounding teeth and only make things worse. My screw was $3,000 (after insurance), but I'd go back and spend every penny all over again....
